NRA BASIC PISTOL
This course is first in the NRA's pistol education progression. It is designed for people who are completely new to handguns. Similar to home firearm safety with the focus solely on handguns. Starting with parts, operation, function, ammunition, and safety, this course takes you through positions, sight alignment, grip, all the way through firing your first shots. This is NOT a concealed carry course, but provides the foundation for successful handgun shooting in the future. This is very popular with people who have just purchased their first handgun and wish to learn to operate it properly before practicing for more advanced shooting skills.
Length: Minimum 8 hours. Cost: $95.00 per student (includes range use fees)
NRA BASIC RIFLE
This course provides people who are new to rifles with a basic understanding of the different rifle types and actions, operation, ammunition, safety, shooting positions, and sighting methods used to shoot more distant targets. It serves as a good starting point for people for people interested in learning rifle shooting for sport or competition. Focus is only on rifles, handguns and shotguns are not discussed.

NRA BASIC SHOTGUN
The NRA basic shotgun course is for students new to shotguns who are interested in learning how to shoot a flying target like a bird or clay pigeon. Different shotgun types, operation, safety, ammunition, and shooting techniques are covered. This course does not address defensive shotgun uses, and is oriented strictly for sporting use of the shotgun. If you are new to shotguns and are interested in shooting trap, skeet, or sporting clays, this is the class to get you started.

DEFENSIVE SHOTGUN ORIENTATION
This non-NRA affiliated course is designed specifically for students new to firearms
who own a shotgun for home defense purposes. Basic shotgun parts, common
actions, operation, ammunition selection, patterns, and safety are the primary
focus of this class. Emphasis is placed on the proficient operation of the students firearm, and basic defensive tactics are introduced. If your first firearm (or first firearm in long time) is a shotgun, and you bought it because the neighborhood isn't what it used to be- this is the class you want.
